Controlling Angry Thoughts

I'm not going to lie being a Christian is hard sometimes. Recently I've been struggling with thoughts, namely because of my short temper. Someone I know is being horribly bullied for being a Christian, and as a sinful being my intimidate reaction to to insult the person who is bulling her. But then that doesn't make me too different from her now does it? My first reaction is anger and frustration, my follow up reaction is shame for things I thought or said and then just regret. So how can we cut out the first part and thus illuminate the second and third? I find the second you hear something that makes you angry is pray, before you say or do anything. It doesn't have to be a long prayer or practiced, it can be short and sweet and to the point and it helps! Now i'm not here to say I've mastered this, because as I've said my temper is a short fuse and it's sometimes hard for me to think before I speak. But it's not impossible, as nothing is with God's help, as the Bible teaches us God never gives us more than we can endure.

Ephesians 4:26-31
"In your anger do not sin": Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry,  and do not give the devil a foothold.  He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with his own hands, that he may have something to share with those in need.  Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.  And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.  Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.

Proverbs 29:11
A fool gives full vent to his anger, but a wise man keeps himself under control

Proverbs 16:32
Better a patient man than a warrior, a man who controls his temper than one who takes a city.

With all of this being said, please pray for the girl I mentioned in this post, she is a wonderful, sweet person and I know God must have something special planned for her to allow her to be going through this.

Modest Outfits For Fall

The first two are my absolute favorites. I really like the grey blouse with the plaid skirt, and the ruffle blouse on the first outfit is so cute and feminine. I hope this gives all you lovely ladies some great ideas for this fall season.

Christian Modesty

Dressing modestly is almost impossible, not because it's hard to get the message of why would should dress modestly or anything. But it's just about impossible to find modest clothing in your everyday stores. I have looked almost EVERYWHERE for modest undershirts (to go with my not so modest "over" shirts) and have come up with nothing each time. I've taken to tying the straps of my current undershirts to try and make them more modest, it's really annoying:) So i'm not going to sit here and tell you about how easy it is to find modest clothing, because truth be told it isn't. BUT I will tell you that the Bible speaks strongly about modestly. In 1 Timothy 2:9 it says that women are to dress modestly and with self control. Now society tells us to do whatever we want and to heck with all that, but God's messages are pretty clear on the subject.

When we as Christian women dress immodestly we help our brothers in Christ to sin by looking at our bodies in lustful ways. Now I'm not saying that men are animals and loose their minds when they see a girl in short shorts and a tank top, BUT I am saying that when a beautiful women wears these types of clothing it does cause men to stumble because not lusting after her is pretty hard, now a Christian man will likely try and look away, but let's be honest here, temptation is UNBELIEVABLE difficult. So why help? If our brothers in Christ were doing something that was helping us sin wouldn't you expect it of them to stop and try and be better for you? So yeah finding modest clothes is more difficult then it used to be and you may have to tie your spaghetti straps but it's worth it in my opinion to help our brothers and listen to God's Word.

Sin Is So Dull

Sin is so much fun....... at first. Then you come to the realization you are living for nothing but "fun". Nothing matters, there is nothing after death for you, these things that seemed so fun and care free seem so dull. The regret I carry is so heavy. Repent with me, let God take away the heavy weight, let Him fill your life with light. I know at this time it seems like being a Christian an following the Christian way of life seems constricting and boring but trust me I have been on both sides, and this- THIS is much better.

Walk The Walk: Christianity

I never realized how totally I missed the Lord and the fellowship of Christian people until I began reading the Word and writing again:) Recently I have become conflicted on something. Although I myself do not consider myself in a place where I can truly spread the word of God (successfully) anyway as I am a "baby" Christian. However I have been wondering, spreading the Word of God is important but does that mean subjecting yourself to immorality? What I mean by this is how do you spread the word of God to immoral people without harming yourself by being around those immoral people? Hanging out with them would just serve as a temptation to do what they are doing, but if you are not around them how do you spread the faith?  I found the answers I was looking for in this verse (along with a few others.)

1 Timothy 4:12

Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.

The answer was really that simple (and staring me in the face:) Lead by example. Although it would harm me, myself to be around people engaging in immoral activates; as it would serve as a temptation, Christians can still lead the way through example. Besides don't we all learn by watching someone anyway? I mean sure you can tell someone about Christ and the Bible all day long but if people can't tell by the way your are that you follow what you say it's pretty pointless. I'v seen a lot of "Christians" in my life who talk a good talk but when it comes to walking? they were as bad as toddlers. Which I think is a lot of the reason so many people turn away from churches and Christianity in general. If people who claim to be Christians act the same as non-believers what's the point? Why even bother? So in conclusion no you don't have to constantly subject yourself to people who blatantly ignore the Word of God to spread the Word. We can show people the way of Christ with our actions, the way we speak (without profanity) the way with act (kindness, love, forgiveness) even the way we dress can impact a non-believers life without us having to be impacted by their life. I'm taking this day by day hour by hour.

ATTENTION CHRISTIAN MODESTY FOLLOWERS!!!

I'm back:) it has been forever and a day since I posted on a blog, I've successfully forgotten all of my old info regarding logging in to my Christian Modesty blog. I haven't posted in forever because I totally and completely lost the Faith. Me and God haven't been close since my last post on my old blog. I lost touch with God and all my beliefs. And now and only now am I finally coming back into the arms of the Lord. I don't hold all the beliefs I did at that point in my life, but I am slowly coming back into the Christian family. I hope to post here my struggles and triumphs (as long with some posts on modesty;) while trying to follow the Lord, where as my other blog was more of an advise column this will be more of a sharing my journey with Christ. I am not perfect, but I am forgiven.
